Keeping One's Perspective

    By Diane Hein
    May 5, 2003

Tears may come and tears go
Their cost could be quite high
Do we let them pour out
And then drench our spirit
Or crush them at first flow?

Life's dials turn forever
With some days furrowing
And other days flying
Let's keep all in context
A lesson to be learned.

A Rainbow

    By Diane Hein
    May 5, 2003

A rainbow ellipse graces the sky
Beauty
Charm
And awe.

Color ushered in after the rain
Yellow
Orange
And red.

Nature opens wide our hidden hearts
Comfort
Peace
And love.

Hope

    By Diane Hein
    May 5, 2003

Hope lives in our heart's island
Floating alone
Just resting in life's rolling seas.
It takes time to find it
But it's always there.

On Apologies

    By Diane Hein
    May 2, 2003

Dry apologies have no place
They are thin and frail like old lace!

Sincere sorries are always strong
They will carry us all along.

Spoken words have so much power
But TONE of voice rules the tower!

Strength in God

    By Diane Hein
    May 2, 2003

In God's loving care
He'll always be there.

Let us do our best
He'll see to the rest.

His voice filled with light
To help day or night.

Give your cares to Him
In prayer or in hymn.

He'll give you comfort
Through days long or short.

Caring Beyond Today

    By Diane Hein
    May 2, 2003

Kindness has unfolded in hearts of late
Both 9/11 and Iraq brought it out.
Compassion is often a long-lost art
Recent tragedies bringing us together.
But let's remember the caring past today
And give thoughtfulness until the morrow.

Emotional Balance

    By Diane Hein
    May 5, 2003

A balancing act life often seems
Some days tears
Other days cheers.
To keep our emotions in harmony
Without a woeful warble
Like the professional musician
It just takes skill and practice.

The Best Team!

    By Diane Hein
    May 1, 2003

Teamwork.
We see it all around
In the clouds and the sky
In the rain and the seed
In the bird and the wind
And best of all
In God and man.

On Maturity

    By Diane Hein
    May 5, 2003

A castle takes time to build
Each stone carefully laid.
Wisdom takes time to build
Experience carefully laid.
Like Rome's coliseum
Maturity constructed through the years
Will stand the test of time.

A Happy Life

    By Diane Hein
    May 5, 2003

A happy life is about balance
And learning to tip the scales your way
To put into life the things you love
And let many others drift away.

It's our job to find happiness
Childhood joys can bring adult pleasures
Just dig hard and deep everyday
And you'll find your personal treasures.

Some fun on the next poem!

I've Got a Good Hair Day!!!

           By Diane Hein
           May 5, 2003

This morn I've got a good hair day
My coif it bounces on my face
It flies free and fast in the wind
Then falls and floats back into place!

A woman's mood like a river
Flows so smooth on a good hair day
But bumbles, meanders and sways
When her fair locks spin all astray!!

Nature's Canopy

         By Diane Hein
       April 2, 2005

Strong are the arms of trees
Bending over to take us in
We can curl up in their leaves
Whisper our cares one by one
And converse in solitude
And when we depart
A new hymn has been sung.
